To come up with the design, I first created a mood board of concert posters I like, and quickly realized how much I enjoy when concert posters are specific to the town the band is appearing in rather than a generic band poster.
With that in mind, I set out to incorporate something uniquely “Boston” in the background. I decided to go with the infamous Citgo sign in Kenmore Square, but dulled down so I'd be able to later draw focus on the relevant concert details in some areas.
I knew I wanted the main focus of the poster to be a stylized version of this gorgeous photo of the band taken by Paige Parsons.
Once the poster was finalized, I reformatted it for use on an Instagram post and a billboard.
